Susan has delivered large Operational, Service and Project initiatives with the focus on value add, on time delivery and sustainability, through applying Lean and Agile techniques and tools. She has executed improvements in the Electronics, Manufacturing and Service, Industry and in the Oil and Gas Industry, working with major companies such as BAE Systems, Selex, Thales, BP and Aker Solutions. Susan is an experienced Coach who utilises her project management skills to effectively deliver Agile Initiatives, focusing on Lean, risk, (opportunities and threats), and high performance through team integration and alignment.
Oil & Gas – Financial Decommissioning: Executed VSM to identify issues & constraints in global decommissioning costs estimation process. Reduced process to once annual, and execution of process from 3 months to 1 month. Reduction in time and manpower requirements by >50%, creating capacity to interrogate outputs, identify mitigations and increase quality of outputs.
Oil & Gas – Lean Project Execution: Led a global lean project execution management review. Applying VSM on current processes, identified numerous improvement opportunities which were then executed as Kaizens. Improved Projects performance by: Contract growth through effective change management training & tools, >10% per project: Threat reduction & opportunity increase through Global visibility, actionability and prioritisation of risks, specifically supplier risks & mitigations, increasing project profitability: Reduced project control team headcount by 25%, by cross training, multiskilling personnel in a controlled manner through implementing competency management criteria & process.
Oil & Gas – Project Performance Room: Implemented a cross functional visual Management Program room with scheduled meetings driving business alignment to customer needs, balanced workload, work levelling, setup reduction and increased customer focus throughout the business, driving functional performance accountability. Customer satisfaction through improved through OTD, increased by 14%, and effective accurate communication.
Work Management – Setup and coached to sustainability: Huddles to improve team communication, accountability and fast actioning: Workload visualisation and Kanban’s to drive focus, accountability and priorities whilst managing capacity: Campaign rooms to reduce waste (time & effort) and introduce agile working, performance visibility and customer focus.
Electronics Service Industry – Outsourcing: Commercial Leader and Implementation Manager for outsourcing 30 people plus £2M of assets from a military vendor, BAE Systems, to a commercial electronics service provider Aeroflex. Including the physical relocation, integration into an established business and training on operational system and processes of 30 people, promotion of the additional capabilities and capacity to new and existing customers. Performed through Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, Visual Management and 5S. Enabling originating company focus on core business and receiving company expanded service portfolio and extensive secure growth, >28% revenue growth.
Electronics Service Industry – Asset Management: Led an asset management programme with data analysis, auditing, unique identifying and transfer of over 5000 test equipment assets to new ownership through planned Kaizen & 5S events over various UK locations for 2 major companies. Including: implementation of an IT online equipment management system enabling JIT asset management: development of a commercial model for test equipment self-sustainment and capital investment. Through analysis and implementation: reduced inventory holding by >20%, creating savings in maintenance and storage: increase utilisation: reduction in capital spend.
